Fly Fishing Sucks

 Have you ever met a fly fisherman under the age of 40? I doubt it. Fly fishing is fishing for people who are allergic to fun. If spending hours in some basement sewing together pieces of string like some kindergarten arts and crafts project just to be able to go fishing sounds like fun to you, you and I have very different definitions of the word fun. Don't even get me started on the fly rod and reel. How are you even supposed to drink an ice cold beer while trying to operate that thing. Even catching the fish loses all of its luster when you remember you have to do a five hour ritual to release the thing otherwise it will die and your fellow fly fisherman will sacrifice you to the sacred trout deity or other such nonsense. If you are a fly fisherman, I feel sorry for you. If you ever want to actually enjoy a fishing trip, find a nice riverbank, dock, or boat, grab yourself a cold one, and see how great life can be when you fish to have fun instead of whatever it is you have been doing. You'll thank me later!

Is it Spring Yet?! A Fisherman's Lament (and a Few Ways to Cope)

Okay, fellow anglers, I'm gonna say it: I'M OVER WINTER. 🥶 Seriously, how much longer do we have to endure this frozen tundra before we can get back out on the water?
